Dr. Porter graduated from Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. Her focus has been small animal practice for the duration of her career. In 2002, she started to travel extensively to study under veterinarians who provide veterinary dental and oral surgery procedures as their sole focus. This one-on-one training in root canal therapy, crowns, periodontal surgeries, orthodontics, restorations, extractions and other oral surgeries serves as the foundation for Dr. Porter's services.
In 2006, Dr. Porter entered a formal program of advanced study in veterinary dentistry. She also began teaching fellow veterinarians about oral conditions and oral health.
